The Saints and Courtney Roby have agreed to a new contract. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The news came from Roby's agent and was first reported by Mike Triplett of the Times-Picayune.
The 30-year-old Roby, who was the captain of special teams for the Saints last season, is the first of the team's unrestricted free agents to be re-signed.
In the first game of the 2012 season he returned a blocked punt for a touchdown against the Redskins.
Chase Daniel, Jermon Bushrod and Jonathan Casillas have all moved on to positions elsewhere. Seven other members of the 2012 roster are still shopping their services for 2013.
