The Saints have reached a deal to sign Steelers' cornerback Keenan Lewis to a 5-year contract.

The agreement reportedly is worth $26 million.

The New Orleans native who prepped at O. Perry Walker High has been in the league 4 years after being selected in the third round of the 2009 Draft.

Lewis played his collegiate football at Oregon State.

Over his four years in the NFL, Lewis has appeared in 45 regular season games and made 17 starts.  He's registered 112 tackles (95 solo), has defensed 30 passes, returned an interception for 9 yards and forced one fumble.

VP/GM Mickey Loomis says Lewis was a "top free agent target" for the Saints.

The 6'0", 210-pound Lewis says he's excited to be able to return home.

"Having grown up here I understand the passion that the fans have for the Saints and I'm blessed to be able to have the chance to play in front of them here in the future," Lewis said.
