The long snapper for the Saints, Justin Drescher, is getting a new 4-year contract with the team.
Drescher first joined the franchise as a rookie free agent in November of 2010 and has handled snapping duties on punts and placekicks in 38 regular season games and three postseason contests since joining the team.
Last season he handled snapping duties for both Thomas Morstead and Garrett Hartley.
The team says his consistency helped both of his teammates.
Morstead earned his first career Pro Bowl nod and Hartley connected on 18 of 22 field goal attempts and ended the season with a career-high 111 points.
